NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA
SOCIAL MEDIA!
MANY OF YOU HAVE A DOUBT THAT WHAT ACTUALLY SOCIAL MEDIA IS?
So, social media is a computer-based technology that facilitates the sharing of ideas, thoughts, and information through the building of virtual networks and communities. But do you think social media is useful for you? Yes it is, but now-a-days using social media is too risky due to its negative aspects.
IN TODAY'S LIFE SOCIAL MEDIA PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE, EVEN THE DAY BEGINS WITH IT. BUT DO YOU KNOW? THERE ARE SO MANY NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA.SO LET'S DISCUSS SOME OF IT AND AWARE THE PEOPLE.
SOCIAL MEDIA MAY PROMOTE NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES SUCH AS:
SOCIAL MEDIA VIOLENCE
Social media plays a role in youth violence.
Youth violence increasingly occurs in the online space.Major limitations in current youth violence and social media empirical studies.
Social media has become recognized as a vehicle through which perpetuate acts of violence against their peers, such as bullying, harassment, dating aggression, and gang-related crimes.
Now-a-days social media became a platform for violence- such as youth violence and gang violence and self-directed violence. social violence has an impact on children's physical, social and emotional development.
SELF ABSORPTION
Sharing endless selfies and all your innermost thoughts on social media can create an unhealthy self-centeredness and distance you from real-life connections. You start depending on others for yourself. Sometimes you may low your confidence, at the same time you will be over confident too.
CYBERBULLYING
An issue that has increased over the years is cyberbullying. Before social media, bullying was something that was possible to do face-to-face. However, now people can bully others online anonymously or not. Today everyone knows what cyberbullying is, and most of us have seen what it can do to a person. While social media makes it easier to meet new people and make friends, it also enables cruel people to tear into others with little efforts.
Typical types of bullying include aggressive and unpleasent emails, private messages and public comments, putting unflattering or manipulated photos of the bullying target online. Many people think cyberbullying is a problem of young people but unfortunately, adults are also bullying each other online and sometimes their targets are co-workers.
DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY
Spending too long on social networking sites could be adversely affecting your mood. In fact, chronic users are more likely to report poor mental health, including symptoms of anxiety and depression. Comparing yourself to other people is a sure path to anxiety, and social media has only made this easier to do.
If you turn to the research and common sense, the recommended amount of time you should spend on social media is around half an hour per day. As with many potential ills in life, it's all about moderation.
ADDICTION
Social media sometimes can be more addictive than cigarettes and liquor. It has an amazing draw for some individuals that prompts them check it all the time without pondering it. Try to know whether you are too dependent on the internet or not.
Attempt to recall the last time you went an entire day without social media accounts. Even now-a-days small-small kids are addicted to social media, they too begin their day with it. Too much addiction of social media may cause many health problems.
SPREADING UNTRUE INFORMATION
Now-a-days trusting untrue news become too easy by social media. Peoples blindly trust hearing it on social media. The cry of fake news has become common place and consumer confidence in even traditional media outlets has been significantly eroded. unfortunately, false, misleading, or confusing online content can harm your brand's reputation, upset even loyal customers and can dissuade people from even considering the purchase of your product or service.
FEAR OF MISSING OUT
This is one of the most far-reaching negative impacts of social media life on society. Fear of missing out is exactly what it seems like. It is a type of nervousness, another one of the social media negative effects. It makes you terrified of passing up a positive encounter that another person is having.
For instance, you may continually check your messages to check whether anybody has welcomed you out. you may center on your instagram feed the entire day. This is only to ensure that no one is accomplishing something cool without you.
This dread gets consistent fuel from what you see via social media networking sites.
SO IT'S MY HUMBLE REQUEST TO ALL OF YOU THAT BE CAREFULL AND AWARE ABOUT SUCH THINGS.
THANK YOU!❤
